Day 1 of the 4d/3n Inca Trail towards Machu Picchu with the company "Inca Trail Reservations". Early pickup from Cusco, break at Ollantaytambo, and the start at "Km 82" near Piscacucho/Piskacucho at around 2,650m/8,700ft.
Following the Urubamba River and railway to viewpoint for Patallacta/Llaqtapata, then turn south up the Cusichaca River for a late lunch. A short hike up to overnight camp at Wayllabamba (~2,900m/9,510ft). Total distance: 12km; trek time: 4:45.

Flat hike but very strong sun. Also, our companions very fast walkers.
