We had a leisure morning at Butuo, strolling around town and visiting secretariat Cai's office. After lunch, we departed Butuo for the 2-hour drive to Xichang, climbing over a 3,200m/10,500ft mountain pass. Dinner was at a wild mushroom restaurant.
