11/3/06 - We left Yunxian for the longest drive of the whole trip. About 5 hours to our final destination, Cangyuan ( 滄源 ), with a lunch break at Gengma ( 耿馬) where we also visited a Burmese Buddist temple.

In Cangyuan, first stop was a cave where the ethnic Wa people celebrate their ancestry. Then we walked on a mile-long footbridge along a beautiful valley. After that we visited three homes of local school kids.

Finally, we were treated to the Wa "King's Banquet". It was a long but one of the most memorable day in my life.

Yunxian Guesthouse, where we stayed.

Simple but nice breakfast at hotel.

Dining hall is in the building on right.

Saying goodbye to our host in Yunxian.

One last view of the town and the broad Luozha River.

Later on, we followed the Nanding River to the SW.

I was riding the VW Santana today.

Bathroom break at the toll authority HQ.

Miles and miles of sugarcane.

Very nice scenery.

Approaching Gengma.
