We didn't get the "Mystery Tour" which was an hour flight on a 752 over Texas. Rather, we had the maintenance tour at the hangers. Fascinating.

Short ride from the hotels to CO's hangers at IAH.

Food!!!

737-800 N26210 that was struck by lightning few days prior.

CFM56-7B26 engine. 26,300lb thrust.

Fuselage skin was patched up from an earlier incident.

Another patch.

My parents.

My mom is the most loyal CO flyer in my family.

The other plane in the hanger is 737-500 N19621.

The event was organized by Continental Airlines for members of the Flyertalk.com forums. This was the 4th and last one of these big events. But other airlines, including Lufthansa, had done similar (or even bigger) stuff since.

How do you go onto a tour like this? This looks great, and I want to participate if possible. But I am not sure how.
